For the past 7 seasons, we have run a weekly feature on the now defunct University of Michigan football blog, Maize And Go Blue, called Tailgate Tuesday. Each week we featured a different barbecue recipe based on that week’s opponent that our readers could cook at their tailgate or homegate.
Alas, Michigan isn’t playing football this season — as of now — so we need a new team to temporarily root for this fall. That’s where you come in. You get to help choose our new team that will be featured in our weekly Tailgate Tuesday feature beginning Sept. 15.
All voting will be done in our Instagram stories (follow us at @pasatiempobarbecue) and vote on each matchup within our story.
The bracket was randomly generated via an online picker and features only teams from the three Power 5 conferences — the ACC, Big 12, and SEC. Since there are 39 teams, I conducted a randomized elimination round bracket to narrow it down to a field of 32. Unfortunately for fans of Georgia Tech, Boston College, Iowa State, Kansas, Arkansas, South Carolina, and Mississippi State, their teams got eliminated in the play-in round.
